Crash Movie Saying
Anthony: You could fill the Staple Center with what you don't know.
Peter: The Kings are playing tonight.
Anthony: Man, I know you just pretend to like hockey to piss me off!
Lara: I'll protect you, Daddy.
Officer Hanson: Something else funny?
Peter: [laughing] People, man... people.
Lara: How far can bullets go?
Daniel: They go pretty far except sometimes they get stuck in something and they stop.
Lara: What if they don't?
Daniel: Are you thinking about that bullet than went through your window?
Daniel: She had these little stubby wings, like she could've glued them on, you know, like I'm gonna believe she's a fairy. So she said, "I'll prove it." So she reaches into her backpack and pulls out this invisible cloak and she ties it around my neck. And she tells me that it's impenetrable. You know what impenetrable means? It means nothing can go through it. No bullets, nothing. She told me that if I wore it, nothing would hurt me. And I did. And my whole life, I never got shot, stabbed, nothing. I mean, how weird is that?
Lara: I heard a bang.
Daniel: What, like a truck bang?
Lara: Like a gun.
Cameron: I don't need your help, man.
[last lines]
Shaniqua: Ahh! Oh, my God. What the hell is wrong with you people? Uh-uh! Don't talk to me unless you speak American!
Anthony: That waitress sized us up in two seconds. We're black and black people don't tip. So she wasn't gonna waste her time. Now somebody like that? Nothing you can do to change their mind.
Peter: So, uh... how much did you leave?
Anthony: You expect me to pay for that kind of service?
Anthony: You see any white people in there waiting an hour and thirty two minutes for a plate of spaghetti? Huh? And how many cups of coffee did we get?
Peter: You don't drink coffee and I didn't want any.
Anthony: That woman poured cup after cup to every white person around us. Did she even ask you if you wanted any?
Peter: We didn't get any coffee that you didn't want and I didn't order, and this is evidence of racial discrimination? Did you happen to notice our waitress was black?
Lara: It's a really good cloak.
Fred: Could we have the black guy acting more British?
Cameron: Why, Fred?
Fred: Because British guys are much cooler than darkies.
Cameron: Yeah... OK.
[Vaughan is being tattooed]
Vaughan: It's too clean.
Tattooist: Medical tattoos are supposed to be clean.
Vaughan: But this is not a medical tattoo. It's a prophetic tattoo. Prophecy is ragged and dirty... so make it ragged and dirty.
James Ballard: I'm beginning to feel like a potted plant.
Vaughan: The car crash is a fertilizing rather than a destructive event.
James Ballard: Katherine, are you all right?
Catherine Ballard: James. I don't know.
James Ballard: Are you Hurt?
Catherine Ballard: I think I'm all right...
[James starts groping and kissing his wife]
Catherine Ballard: ... I think I'm all right.
James Ballard: Maybe the next time, darling. Maybe the next time.
Vaughan: I've always wanted to drive a crashed car.
James Ballard: You could get your wish at any moment.
Vaughan: No, I mean a crashed car with a history. Camus' Fassellvega, Nathaniel West's station wagon, Grace Kelly's Rover 3500. Just fix it enough to get it rolling. Don't clean it, don't touch anything else.
James Ballard: Do you see Kennedy's assassination as a special kind of car crash?
Vaughan: The case could be made.
Vaughan: Seagrave? You couldn't wait for me? You did the Jayne Mansfield crash without me?
Vaughan: [talking into microphone as he walks around the car] Don't worry. That guy's gotta see us. Don't worry. That guy's gotta see us... These were the confident last words of the brilliant, young Hollywood star James Dean as he piloted his Porsche 550 Spyder race car toward a date with death along a lonely stretch of California two-lane blacktop Route 466... Don't worry that guy's gotta see us. The year... 1955. The day... September 30. The time... Now. The first star of our show is Little Bastard. James Dean's racing Porsche. He named it after himself and had his racing number - 130 - painted on it.
Vaughan: [speaking into microphone] I myself shall play the role of Dean's racing mechanic Rolf Voudrich, sent over from the Porsche factory in Zuffenhausen, Germany. Now, this mechanic was himself fated to die in a car crash in Germany 26 years later.
James Ballard: After being bombarded endlessly by road safety propaganda, almost a relief to have found myself in an actual accident.
